British Columbia Timberframe Homes
This family timber frame home situated on the shore of Lake Quinault was in fact grandfathered in place within the bounds of the State Park on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. We set out to design a home that would render homage to the long rich history of the US National Parks and the camp-like yet majestic feel that one could expect from a park lodge. Notably, the real tree posts you see at the interior entrance way with the natural roots are in fact Red Cedar. These trees were handpicked in the local Squamish BC forests, pressured washed with care, and engineered to the rest of the timber frame. The forged steel collar ties lend structure and aesthetic to the frame, while the curved beams are natural, not created with glue-laminated timbers. This lakeside timber frame home remains a very special residence among those we have had the pleasure to design and manufacture.
